Words of Advice from Bill Gates

Life is wonderful, but it is also challenging at times. The following advice comes from one of the most successful businessman in history, Bill Gates. He recently told a group of high schoolers about 11 things they did not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a full generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world. I want all of you to be very successful, so consider some of his words:

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it.

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3: You will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone, until you earn both.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.

Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping; they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parents' generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as many times as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

So close… and yet so far… In my brain there is a reunion and the stamp in the proform says FORBIDDEN...

... He is the one I dream of... the one I invented in my head... the one that I made up in my bed thinking I could probably find him while being awake... he only exists in my dreams in my thoughts, in my naked soul, in my silly eyes… will I find him? will I get to know him? will I ever get to tell him that he was the one I was expecting my whole life?

Dozens of them I've met, but yet none is like him. I thought I met once one… thought it was him, but then misguided… They use his disguised, they wear his mask, they pretend to be the one but yet there is no match... the match that will light up the flame, flame that will provide the light, light that will give me a chance to be disguised...

sometimes I can handle the memories, sometimes I prefer not to remember.

Weekend… I’ve been talking with a friend about what’s-next. I realized that we beg for vacations during the semester (or trimester, whatever), but when they finally come, we have too much free time! It’ll be great if we could have vacations in short periods. Ah! Things get worst when there is no money to go-out-somewhere and even worst if you are a boring person like me.

I often think I’m boring. I don’t like going to clubs (but I do sometimes), I don’t smoke and I barely drink more than five beers without feeling dizzy. But that’s the life every 20’s year-old person lives! I see all the people who wait for the weekend to go to a rave, to a club, to buy some beers and drink outside their houses… they seem to be happy…

I prefer staying home, watching a movie, drinking coffee, reading books, and playing with my dogs rather than hanging out and meeting new people… what do I win with that? Am I wasting my life? I’m 21 years old, I already finished my career, I already have a work that I like, but am I going to stay there in the same place? How long? Uhmm… I need a plan and I don’t have any idea of what to do.
Maybe is just some kind of crisis, like “the quarter of life chaos”… could be?

Mi closet está vacío... toda la ropa esta en el sofá.

Entregue un trabajo en equipo ahora... yo solo lo leí antes de imprimirlo.

Mi perro esta deprimido... hace bastante que no le dedico tiempo.

Mañana tengo una OPEN-Class y una presentación con el grupo de la primaria... no se que voy a dar en la clase y no he ensayado la canción con los niños.

Mi cara se ve descuidada... hace mas de dos años que no me hago un facial.

Mis levis están rotos... y los que están completos no me quedan.

Tengo que cubrir gastos del party de graduación... y de ventas pro-graduación, papelería y muchas otras cosas.

El tres de junio termino el curso con el grupo de los sábados... no alcancé a terminar el libro.

Pero... no siento estrés, no siento nervios ni presión, no me duele el estómago ni la cabeza. Estoy bien... después de él puedo ver las cosas desde un mejor ángulo, donde se siente bien.

Si alguien encuentra la cura para la desorganización, avisenme.
